The aims of the site will be to show a number of different aspects of my work and muster some interest. I am very pleased to undertake commissions and have done a number of commissions for publishers requiring magazine illustrations. This includes a commission for BBC music magazine and a number of other periodicals.
The images in the site largely represent the culmination of 14 years spent in mainstream and special education and the drawings and notes made throughout this period. The contents were inspired on a conscious and an unconscious level by the people around me and the situations occurring at any given time. They relate to specific incidents, behaviours, attitudes, comments, actions, feelings and emotions experienced on a day to day basis. The results led to me completing a Masters Degree in ‘The Arts in Therapy and Education’, the dissertation focusing on ‘Art as a communicative tool to create dialogue with pupils with special educational needs leading to self esteem and the reduction of anti-social behaviour.’ (click here to read a copy of my M.Ed dissertation - in Adobe pdf format and please note that it is 59 pages long and 426Kb in size) The dissertation has led to my present project, ‘Shoe Stone’.
I am involved in a number of projects which include:
